Many, many thank yous to Nicole for hosting me! You are a gem and I cannot express my gratitude enough!!!
The run-down of the last couple of weeks; Not much has gone on, really. I’ve been sick, not only with headaches but in the last few days I’ve had symptoms of the flu. I’ve been running a fever since yesterday, aching all over and just have a huge lack in energy.
We went to my Aunt Janice’s house last Tuesday and had lunch with my Uncle Wayne and his wife Denise. When they arrived, Denise’s family (mother, brother and sister) were with them from Battlecreek Michigan! They’d all gone on a little vacation to Jekyll Island! I think this was the first time I’d met any of her relatives, at least that I can recall!
There’s still a lot we have to do before we leave for Calgary. We’d originally planned to leave this past weekend but my mother wanted to throw us a going away party this coming Friday, so we decided to stay one more week. I finally got to spend some time with my sister and the kids yesterday. We all had dinner at my mom’s house last night. I didn’t know they were all going to be there, so I hope they don’t get whatever this is that I have. Bleh.
Living in this house has drained me! There’s constant stress and my dad just has a way of saying or doing things to piss one off, especially me! Sometimes he doesn’t do it intentionally but others, I could swear he does! He’s even started doing little things to his girlfriend, Kim!!
My grandmother has been up and down and in and out of the hospital the last couple of weeks. They think she’s suffering from the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s disease. She’s very restless at night, suffers from a lot of memory loss and also has hallutionations. She tells us about a “baby” or “children” sleeping in the bed with her, that keeps her up all night. Mama and Tammy will check on her and she’ll just be roaming around the house talking crazy! Some of you have met her and you’ll recall, she’s never been one to swear but last night.. omg! She was so aggitated, we’d hear her say “Son of a b#$%@”! We stayed at my mom’s last night and though I don’t remember hearing her up and about, mama says she was!
Well, I’m going to finish up some stuff and go take a nap! I still have several things to tie up before we leave Saturday!
Check list;
1] New tires
2] Oil change
3] Brakes checked
4] Passport waiting
5] Check prices for flying the cats to Calgary
6] Cash all checks / get money together
7] Sort through belongings in garage
8] Wash / detail truck
I know there’s more but I’m too tired to remember. Pffth!!
Oh, I have a Virb.com account, if you want to add me! :]

Welcome back! It’s nice to see your site up and running - and moving quickly! I’m also assuming that you got your database back?
I’m sorry to hear about how your grandmother is doing… that must be hard to see.
And have fun wrapping things up! I know we’re going nuts trying to get everything taken care of, ugh!

Ugh, I’m SO happy that you’re back! And that you’re with someone reliable — Yay for Nicole!
I’m sorry you’ve been feeling yucky, hopefully you’ll be 100% in no time
Alzheimer’s… it’s a scary thing. I always worry that my Gramma is slowly starting to show signs of it. My prayers are with your Gramma, I couldn’t imagine how it must feel

You’re back! I used to lurk at your old site but felt kinda funny asking for the new domain becuase I never really commented. So I’m commenting now so yo don’t go away again. I’m a photography whore and your work is AWESOME. I’m nowhere as good and really just do it as a hobby so I’m a little jealous of your eye.
Sorry to hear about your grandma. I’m sure that’s kinda scarry for the entire family but it sounds like she has a good support system and a family that cares and will take care of her.
Good luck in the trip. Are you moving to Canada or just visiting?

Thank you for the thoughts/prayers about my grandmother and the “feel betters” for me!
Anna, thank you for the compliment on my photography!
And yep, we’re moving back to Canada!

I’m so sorry to hear about your Grandmother.
I’m glad to see you back. I hope you feel better soon. Everyone seems to be sick lately. My husband just got over being sick. He was sick for almost a week. Drink lots of tea and eat lots of soup.
Take care.

Yaaay you’re back!
I’ll definitely keep your grandmother in my thoughts. My grandfather and my grandmother (to a degree) went through a very similar experience. It’s so frustrating to watch them go through it because .. what can you do? It’s a helpless feeling.
