I’ll tell you one of my own!

When I was 15 years old, my family gave me a new nickname! It was “Skitter”. This is because I used to wear “Sketchers” a lot back then. That year, my mom took me and my sister Nikki to see “The Music Man” at The Fox Theatre in Atlanta! The selling point, though I would’ve gone anyway, was that Barry Williams was staring in the play! Do you know who Barry Williams is?? In case you’ve been living under a rock, he played Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch! So, there we were, to see “The Music Man”! As the play was nearly over, we decided we’d go on and try to leave! We wouldn’t miss anything except maybe their “bows” and if you’ve ever been to Atlanta, traffic can be a mess but even more so when large crowds of people leave an area at the same time! We were 3 levels up, I believe (or maybe it was two, I can’t quite remember) and as we were heading do the stairs.. my legs just buckled! I’d had knee surgery for a shredded cartilage 2 years earlier and my right leg and knee were still weak from it! When my legs buckled, my right leg went behind me and my left leg went ahead of me. Do explain it better, Teresa went STAIR SURFING!! I just happened to be wearing a pair of my “Sketchers”, so once everyone realized the only thing hurting was my “ego” (lmao).. we all had a good laugh! As we were getting into the car, my sister said “I have a new nickname for you”.. I should’ve known it was coming. “I’m going to start calling you skitter!!!!”. hahaha!

To this day, I can’t believe I went stair surfing in front of “Greg Brady”.. though I highly doubt he saw me! At least I like to think of it that way. ;]
