Ergh.
I am so annoyed! My dad sent out Jo’s 401k check last Thursday, around lunch time EST. It was sent 3-5 express mail (international). I am not stupid, I know all too well about the “customs” process but why on Earth would they need “weeks” to process a small envelope that contains nothing but a check???
I could understand this entire process a lot better if this was a “parcel”. I just feel a couple of weeks is a ridiculous wait for something so small.
He was told (by someone who obviously didn’t know a thing about the international postal service) it would only take a few days to reach us. I was hoping that would be the case but it’s proving it’s not.
We’ve received a bit of mail from US address in the past couple of weeks. Most only took about 5 days to get here. You’d think with express mail, it’d be here… well, express, in comparison. Pffth

That is pretty pathetic! Especially, as you say it’s only a thin envelope, not an elephant!

and so is the united states postal service. they are so busy upping the postal rate that they can’t get your mail there on time. I’ve had things take weeks. I actually sent myself something to see how long it would take to get from my house to my house. The turn around time was impressive.
