Too much

You know, I really need to work on minimizing our load. The load we are moving that is. I know some of this stuff is junk, so I think I am going to go back through some of these boxes and do away with some of it. I know I have a box of handbags that I could easily downsize. The same goes for the box Jo has packed up with all of his books and computer games. I think I will just maybe try to shrink my handbags down to half or maybe even a third. I know there are a few that I will likely never use again and at least one that still has tags that I have not used yet. I mean, if I have not used it in 6 months, will I? I doubt it, so what is the point in keeping it stored away.

I probably need to go back through some of these clothes too. I know I threw in a coat that I will probably never wear again. It is just way too bulky for me. I know it will be a lot colder in Newfoundland this winter but really, I think my the coat I had with me there last winter will be fine. Jo said I should ditch some of my shoes too. I have several pairs of flip flops which is due to my needing them in every color. HAHA.

What I am hoping to accomplish with this is taking our 4 large boxes down to one and our plastic containers down to 2. We still have to think about where our computer chairs will go and our desks. Of course, we also need room for Jynx (and Bella if Jo’s cousin does not want her) and other things like our George Foreman grill, my Kitchen Aid mixer and the deep fryer. Oh, and we cannot forget about the air conditioner. No way am I getting rid of that sucker.

Wow, I think I just gave myself twice the work to do.

Getting closer

We finally got in touch with our apartment manager. We have been trying to notify them of our move for awhile now. We had left so many messages and never got any return calls. Well, she stopped by this morning and said she must have written the number down wrong, and she did, the last four of our number = 0661 and she wrote down 0061. Anyway. All is squared away. We should get our damage deposit back on Tuesday.

We still need to have the oil changed, which we have been trying to do since Thursday. Every time we go to the Wal-mart at the Deerfoot mall, we are told that the person who does the oil changes is not in. That is 4 days that this person supposedly is not in?? Why is there only one person capable of doing an oil change? Anyway. We will go somewhere else tomorrow. I am tired of putting up with those people and wasting my time.

I still have a lot to do as far as packing things. We decided to buy a roof pouch, which will help with the storage thing and keeping things from obstructing our view.

I spoke with my mom for a bit yesterday. I was trying to find out if she had sent my birthday package because if she had, I wanted her to know I had not gotten it yet. She had not sent it though. Whatever she got me still had not been shipped (is on backorder). She said she would just wait until we got to my in-laws to ship it but I am a little worried about that. The little community that they live in does not have regular mailboxes, like at the edge of the road or even on the side of the house. Theirs are more like small cbu mailboxes, so the only thing that really fits in theirs are small to medium sized envelopes. I guess we could always have it shipped to Jo’s grandmother’s place though. They live in a more populated area and actually have mailboxes at the edge of the road. I am just really excited to see what she got me. I have a feeling it is another tea pot to add to my growing collection!

Cute handbag

Yeah, yeah. I know, another handbag. Forget about that other bag I posted about recently. I have a new love. It is a bag by JP Lizzy and even the name of the bag is cute - Strawberry Truffle Purse. Jo took me out shopping earlier today, after running our errands. While at the mall, I found a really nice light pink and brown tartan print purse that I wanted. Only thing that prevented me from buying it was the hefty price tag (well over $100). This bag (pictured to the left) is way cheaper at only $42. I actually would not mind having this cute bag in other colors too (light blue, solid brown with striped interior). This is the style I buy pretty often.

I think I will add this to my Christmas list, which seems to be growing into quite the little monster. Before too much longer I am sure I will be forced to start scratching things off!

My feet are killing, as are my arms and legs. We did an insane amount of running around today (over 6 hours) and I am so ready to just kick back and relax for the rest of the night.

Online banking

Edit; As mentioned by a commenter on this post, the issue with the theme was a plugin - Word Count. I forgot I put that in there and in turn, forgot to remove it! Sorry about that. I have updated the zips for both “Pink for October” themes and the “Autumn Comes” theme. I believe those are the only 3 themes with this issue, but I will go through the remaining themes to be sure.

Something is going on with the website where we do our online banking. Every time I try logging in it tells me; first) I have double clicked something and second) it cannot connect using my “ID”. I have no idea what that means, so I guess I will making a phone call to TD today. Unfortunately they do not open until 10am, so I will be stuck here trying to figure it out until then. Unless of course it starts working before then. I guess it could be some kind of glitch but I have never seen anything like this happen before.

Also, I got an email from someone this morning who is trying to use one of my Pink for October themes. They seem to be having trouble viewing individual entries through permalinks like; blog.domainname.com/category/posttitle. To those who have downloaded and have been using any of my themes, have you had this problem? This is the first time anyone has contacted me about this kind of issue. I am awaiting their reply to my reply, so I figured while I wait I will see if anyone else has had this problem.

Now I am going to put on something warm. My husband is obviously trying to freeze me. It has to be in the upper thirties or lower forties out and he has the air conditioner blasting!

Dad

My dad called earlier today so that we could “catch up”. My nephew Trent (my youngest sister’s youngest boy) stayed over last night and he said that Trent wore everyone out. That bought Trent some balls to play with (like kick balls) and that is all he wanted to do for the entire evening. He finally got tuckered out and fell asleep around midnight. I bet everyone was pooped!

My dad was also telling me that he has plans on replacing the two steel buildings he uses as storage sheds. The last time he did this, he and some of his neighbors exchanged some pretty harsh words. Apparently some of the neighbors did not like where he had to situate those buildings because it “blocked the view of two backyards”.. Yeah, those neighbors are snots, well sometimes. They eventually came to an agreement after involving the city. I mean, these neighbors actually went to the city with a petition that some of the other neighbors had signed. Too bad they did not get enough signatures though. My dad kept the buildings in the same spot, where they still sit today. He is only replacing them because he needs more space. If he did not pack everything away like a pack rat, he would not have that problem!

My sweet tooth

We just got back from a late lunch, or should I say an early dinner. We decided to try out an Asian restaurant a few blocks down from us. It was delicious. I absolutely loved those sweet, tender mini-ribs. I have no idea what kind of sauce they were soaking in but wow, they were the best ribs I have ever eaten in my life. And I rarely eat ribs.

After dinner, I started craving something sweet. Sweet and salty, right? They really did not have anything “sweet” that I would like, other than jell-o. I love jell-o but only cherry or strawberry. All they had was orange. I decided to pick up some cupcakes from the Safeway bakery. I have yet to dip into them but I assure you, it is only moments away.

I have a horrible sweet tooth right now.

Gossip girl

When it comes to gossip, like many people, I am guilty. The last two places I worked for, I worked with all women and every single one of us spent time gossiping about various things. Usually it stemmed with our dislikes about the way our superiors were running things. I have even been guilty of “gossip” when it comes to my blog - celebrity gossip counts right? If I were “anonymous”, gossip would probably work for me better but since I am not and tend to be way too open about things (I would be found out way too fast), I would suck at the real juicy stuff.

Stuff like you will find on the new series Gossip Girl on The CW. Haven’t seen the show? You should. I am 29 years old and I am not embarrassed to admit I love it. It will be interesting to find out who “gossip girl” is, especially if the characters in the show find out. Won’t that be an explosion?

If you have missed the first two episodes, you do not want to miss the rest of them. Tune in to the CW every Wednesday at 9PM EST for Gossip Girl. It is already getting good. I cannot wait to see what Blair will do next, since finding out about the short fling between Serena and her (Blair’s) boyfriend.

Disturbing

Do you know how disturbing and disheartening it is to find your Wordpress theme on a site promoting “White Pride” and using vulgarities about other races?

Yeah. It just happened. I am sad and rather pissed, to be honest with you.

Sleep please

Well I managed to go to bed really late (or would that be early, since it was after midnight) and woke up really early. Something is wrong with this picture. I have not been getting much sleep the last couple of nights but I was so exhausted last night that I thought for sure I would drift off into “la la land” within a matter of minutes. Not the case, sadly. I think I am due for a nap today. I may wind up regretting it tonight, you know, when I am unable to sleep again but at least I will get a little rest. I am looking over at my bed where Jynx and Bella are curled up asleep and wish I could do the same.

I must say though, Jo was up much later than me. He was wrapped up in a new computer game and did not manage to get to bed until after 6am this morning. Yeah, here I thought I was bad!

Mysite hosting

In a couple of weeks I plan to roll out a couple of new projects - a paper goods site and a weblog to document my life in Newfoundland, once we move there. I have been looking into possible website hosting providers and trying to narrow it down. I was just looking through the packages over at Mysite.com and found a package that will be perfect for both of them for only $7.95 per month, which will give me an ad free site with 5 GBs of space and 50 GBs of bandwidth with the ability to FTP my files and provides MySQL which is a must. It will be perfect for the “Life in Newfoundland” blog and the paper goods, small business site. This is a great price.

They also provide other plans, for instance; the starter account for $3.95 will give you and ad free site with 1 GB of space, 10 GBs of bandwidth and will be great for small personal websites. If having ads on your site is not an issue for you, you may be interested in their free hosting plan, which gives you ads on the site but gives you a free 50 MB website. And hey, if you are thinking of something on a larger scale, be sure you check out their e-commerce packages.

Like I said, these packages are perfect for personal websites, blogs or even a small business website. Best of all, the prices are awesome.
