The whole thing sounds shitty and I agree 100% with your analysis because my mom just went through this kind of crap. You know she has really bad problems and she works in a factory. She's been given the run around, told she can't leave work when she's got obvious signs of distress and has vacation time, etc. Honestly my husband doesn't understand why she doesn't quit, but I see her side of it she just can't. You guys are a lot younger then her and you have the ability to do it. Don't let someone treat you like crap at a job and wear down your health in the process because you will hate yourself when you are older. Plus, Newfoundland here you come! Two years ago I chipped a tooth on a hard piece of god knows what that was in some food I had purchased at work and ate on my break. I immediately notified the manager and asked for claims forms. He blew me off, saying the company wouldn't do anything, yadda yadda yadda. In the end, I quit a month later, so I've had to suck up the dental bills myself, but still... classic case of the company trying to hush you up or blow you off so they don't look bad or lose money.
