Grandfather clock

I can remember visiting my great grandmother as a child and being in awe of the grandfather clock in her hallway. Though it was pretty old, it was absolutely gorgeous and well taken care of. When she passed, I had hopes of ending up with it but it was such a wonderful clock that I knew that would likely not happen - I was right. I did promise myself a few years back that I would have a grandfather clock in my own home someday and I meant it. I think grandfather clocks make for a nice piece of decor and they are functional.

I love the Howard Miller grandfather clocks, especially the “Roberston”. It has the antique look to it and at the same time, has an almost modern feel because of the dial and chime. The detail put into not only the dial and chime, but also into the wood is really beautiful. This is definitely the style that I would want (and plan to have) in my own home someday, specifically in our formal living room. Of course, when I do decide to buy my own grandfather clock, I will need to know how to maintain it. Thankfully I found a place to learn how to do just that.
