I’ve been thinking about this for awhile now; I’d love to help my in laws redo their bathroom. There have been some moisture problems, which started during Winter. There’s no vent, so all of the steam from a hot bath or shower rises to the ceiling, which essentially means it’s rather damp. It’s also rather small, which I feel can easily been fixed by changing the layout just a bit. Here are my thoughts: I think changing from a tub with a shower to only a stand alone shower would provide a little more space. Because they have a large storage room (once used as my sister in laws’ first bedroom), so most of the towels, washcloths and extra bath items can be stored there rather than in the actual bathroom. This would also help with the space because moving from a larger vanity with cabinets underneath like they have now, to a pedestal sink would limit the space used for the sink area.

I found myself browsing Better Bathrooms, where I have found several pieces that would solve the space problems in my in laws`current bathroom. Of course any upgrades would have to come after remodeling, but Better Bathrooms has provided me with some great ideas. Because they provide a nice variety of styles, I think it`ll be easy for my in laws to find something they like. If it were up to me, the bathroom would have a more modern feel. My in laws on the other hand would probably rather have something a little more traditional.
