Perhaps I will

It seems like everyone’s getting MP3 players these days. I’ve been wanting one for a long time now but never splurged on one for myself. I’d love to have one for when I’m traveling or taking a walk. Also, Jo and I are planning on investing in new bikes soon and I think it’ll be nice to have an MP3 player along for the ride, especially while cycling along the coast. That would be pretty awesome.

You know, that sort of gives me a whole other idea. My birthday is in September. Everyone keeps asking “What do you want?” but until now, I had no idea what I truly wanted (that was within an affordable budget of course). Maybe if I’m really sweet between now and my birthday I can nudge my husband into buying one for me? I spoiled him at Christmas and for his birthday back in February. Perhaps he’ll return the favor.

Any suggestion? I really haven’t looked into them all that much, especially lately.

  • Last year I told all my close family to pool together and get me an 8gb ipod nano. It was the best thing ever. Itunes is very easy to use and I’ve been super pleased with my ipod.

  • I bought an Ilo mp3 player a few years ago. It had all the things I wanted in an mp3 player: 1. added memory with an SD card 2. takes a AAA battery so if I forget to plug it in I can just replace the battery 3. small 4. has a screen 5. affordable 6. doesn’t force me to use itunes. (I mostly listen to music you can’t get on itunes, so it does me no good at all)
I’m not a huge mp3 player user, so maybe I have different ideas of what’s good. I listen to podcasts and some music during a workout or lunch break, not regularly.
Side note, the player came with music on it. I deleted all of it except one band that I ended up loving and buying their CD. I was surprised to like something pre-loaded!

  • I totally love love love love love my iPod, but then again it interfaces with my iMac hand-in-hand. Though, I’ve never heard of many having problems with windows and iPod… so yeah. I’m a geek though :)

I’ve had a shuffle, a first generation nano, and now a classic. I like the classic the best because it has a bigger screen, plays videos if i want and holds all of my music and holds photos too :)

Best of luck finding one you like!

  • Ipods are probably the most annoying mp3 players in the world. Not only are Ipods pretty expensive to start with, they only list itunes compatibility, which you have to pay again for.

I have a sony mp3 player and I love it. It plays mp3s, wmas, wavs, aac, ogg, mpeg-4, yep it plays videos too. And mine only cost about $100. The only drawback to getting something other than Ipod is that there are not many accessories, Ipod has the market-cornered there too.
