Something just hit me. My nephew Tyler, Nikki’s oldest boy, will be 9 this year. Later this month in fact. I can’t get over how fast time flies as you get older. I can remember griping about how slow time went as a child. Like when I was sitting in school just after Winter break daydreaming about Summer and realizing it was months away. Now it’s something more like sitting around during Winter, thinking about Summer and with the blink of an eye it IS Summer.

I’ve been thinking about Tyler a lot lately. I helped my sister raise him for the first couple of years, when her ex couldn’t decide if he wanted to grow up or not. His dad, her ex, is no longer in the picture. In fact, I can’t even recall the last time he saw any of them (3 total), called them, wrote them or anything of that sort. It’s such a shame. I can remember times when he denied being the father of them, which is absolutely hilarious. If you saw a photo of any of them beside a photo of him, you’d know there was no need for DNA testing to prove he’s the father.

I miss those boys so much.
