Skin protection

I have been trying to find some new skinceuticals. It’s been at least a year since the last time I bought anything to protect my skin. I rarely ever leave the house without some type of sunblock, whether it’s in my foundation or just regular sunblock itself. I would like to find some skin care products, for sensitive skin, that provides UV protection. I would like to keep my skin looking as young as possible, while also lower any risk of skin cancer.

This is important in general but especially so because we are outdoors so often - me doing my nature photography and us just enjoying life on the Atlantic Coast.

Beauty secrets

It is pretty bad when your 16 year old sister-in-law knows more about skin care than you do, a late-twenty-something year old.. isn’t it? While visiting my in-laws this past December, I noticed Colleen had several jars and boxes of bath salts like dead sea salt. I had never tried salts before, prior to that. One morning I decided to try out the bath salts and surprisingly enough, it worked. My skin was really soft for the rest of the day and looked hydrated/moisturized. I rarely ever take baths, not since we moved out of our house (I really miss my garden tub) and on most occasions prefer showers but I’m thinking I should do this bath salt thing at least a couple of times a week. I haven’t used them since January.

I guess this is something to add to my shopping list for tomorrow! I want to find some with a sweet or fruity scent or even something like ginger.

Mary Kay Consultant

Over the years I have tried various brands of make-up! Some left my skin too oily or too dry and sometimes even caused breakouts (I have sensitive skin). Around the same time I was struggling with finding the right product for my skin, my best friend’s mother started to sell Mary Kay products. She offered to do a small facial class at her home and invited me over! After doing the facials, we did the make-up application. I started off with the concealer and after applying it, my skin looked great! One of the things I noticed first about the concealer, besides the great coverage, was the fact it was a perfect match to my skin color! I have very fair skin and nearly all foundations and concealers are too dark, this concealer (and the foundation) are not! It covers really nicely, all over and isn’t “heavy” like a lot of concealers and foundations are! I did try the foundation that night too, which was just as nice but since the concealer did such a good job on it’s own, that’s all I decided I’d use! To this day, it is the BEST product I’ve ever put on my face! I quickly became a Mary Kay user for life! I still continue to use Mary Kay products, especially the concealer, mascara and shadows!

If you’re looking for a new product, whether in your make-up, skin care or even perfumes (Journey smells divine!), you’ll need an Independent Mary Kay Consultant, such as Paula Batzer! She’s offering free first class shipping when you make a purchase via her website!!

If you haven’t been introduced to America’s Best Selling Brand; Mary Kay, then I have to ask.. what are you waiting for??
