The winner is..

I’m a day late, sorry!

Congratulations to Ally! She was the randomly chosen winner for my handbag contest. I used Random.org to generate a single number from 1 - 207 (the number of comments on the entry). Had it selected a number that was a duplicate comment (I’m pretty sure there were a couple of those), I would’ve regenerated a new number. That wasn’t the case, it selected comment number 23 - Ally. So again, congratulations on your win. I’ll be contacting you shortly, for a shipping address.

Jo’s wedding band

Jo has pretty much “grown out” of his wedding band. He blames my mom’s cooking - good excuse! Anyway, I decided I would look into having it stretched but the Jeweler said that might not be the best thing because it’s so thin. We don’t have children (unless you consider our cats children, but the IRS won’t let us claim them.. so you know), I still figured I’d do something for him for Father’s Day. It’s really just an excuse to get him that wedding band he’s been wanting for over a year now.

ring img Just Mens Rings has a nice collection of rings like Men’s Wedding Bands, some that are “Jo’s style.” I really like the Tungsten band with thin gold inlay. This is sort of the style we picked out before (not his previous band, I mean in our search for a new one). Jo was just browsing the site with me and his first pick, different from mine of course, is the Titanium band with the black resin insert. It looks really stylish, and like Jo said - “Who can resist that price for such a cool looking band.” I agree.

Just Mens Rings sells more than just wedding bands, like Spinner rings which are also known as Tibetan worry rings, or prayer rings. My oldest nephew is into those kinds of rings, so that would make for a nice birthday gift in the future. Again, they’re also affordable and stylish. I love that they use other materials and metals, other than the normal gold and silver. Some of the metals Just Men’s Rings are stainless steel, titanium and tungsten-carbide.

If you’re looking for stylish and rather unique Men’s Wedding Bands, well rings in general, Just Mens Rings is a good place to start.

This was a paid review.

Win a handbag

I told you I’d be holding another handbag contest and guess what? It starts today. This is a handbag I purchased from Rebecca Weis, and have decided to use in this contest. It’s a gorgeous bag featuring a beautiful dandelion-like pattern in ivory and black. It’s a shoulder tote, which I love. This will be a great bag for Spring and Summer.

The contest will run for one week, from April 25th until May 2nd. I will turn comments off at 11:59 May 2nd and announce the winner by the afternoon of May 3rd.

Not sleeping well

I haven’t gotten much sleep the last couple of nights. The night before last it was because I knew I had to be up early. I guess the constantly thinking “OK, I have to be up in X amount of hours in order to be ready to go on time” caused the problem. I’m not sure what really caused me to wake up so often last night though. I fell asleep on the couch watching “That 70’s Show” around 2am. Jo woke me up about an hour after that and made me go get into bed. I fell asleep the second my head hit the pillow, I think, because I really don’t even remember closing my eyes. I would think this would surely mean a good night’s sleep, but nope. I woke up after about an hour in the bed, then about another hour after that. I also woke up when my sister in law was getting read to leave for school, but I think that’s because I had to use the bathroom (had to go right then, eh). I feel so, blah. I hate not getting enough sleep or just “good” sleep in general. It tends to spoil the rest of the day. Naps are out of the question most days too. I’ve been noticing it a lot lately, that when I do take a nap I wake up feeling even worse - either due to a headache or just being sleepier.

I also wish I had better window coverings in our bedroom. Sometimes the sun shines to bright in there, it’s impossible to sleep past dawn. Maybe some roller shades could do the trick?

Handbag winner

And the winner is….Kecia! I used a random number generate to generate a single number out of the number of entries, excluding my own comment and the extra comments left by a few people. I figured this was the easiest way to select the winner rather than going through and printing off the list of those entering, cutting them and so forth.

Congratulations Kecia! I’ll be sending you an email shortly regarding shipment of your bag, as well as your selection between the two available!

Thank you to everyone who participated. Since everyone seemed to enjoy the handbag thing, I actually have another bag I purchased several months back, that I’ll be using in an upcoming contest. For those who didn’t win, you have another chance!

Reminders

First off, don’t forget to turn off your lights at 8PM tonight, for Earth Hour.

Second, if you planned to enter my latest contest, you may want to go ahead and do that soon. I will be closing the comments tomorrow at 11:59PM EST. In other words, you have just over 24 hours to enter. I will announce the winner on Monday.

Third, GO, FLAMES GO. I get to watch the Calgary Flames game tonight. They’re playing the Edmonton Oilers. I sure hope they get a spot in the playoffs. Man, sometimes I wish we still lived in Calgary. Ha, ha.

2 Contests

First; I’d like to remind you, again, about the contest I’m holding. You can read about it here; Win a handbag. The winner will have the chance to choose between the pink and brown page featured here, or the black and white bag (with the flower on the front) featured in the contest information.

Second; Jess, my lovely friend from back home, is running a contest too. Those who enter have a chance at winning an 8oz soy candle, created by Jess herself. She has some of the best scents out there, plus it’s soy. For those who aren’t familiar with soy candles - the burn longer and cleaner, and the scents are stronger. The winner will also get the choice of selecting their favorite scent from the selection of scents that she has available. In other words, the candle is made just for you. If you’d like to learn more about Jess’ contest or enter for a chance to win the soy candle, check out the contest details here; Soy candle giveaway. Hurry now though, the contest ends on April 1st. If you don’t win this time, no worries. She will feature a candle every month, in a contest, from here on out!

Head, meet ache

I’ve been dealing with a headache for three straight days. It’s unlike any headache I’ve ever had in my life. It’s moving from just above my left eye to just above my right eye. Jo said it’s the “marbles moving around”, and I couldn’t help but laugh though it hurt. I finally gave in and took something for it late last night, which did ease the pain for a couple of hours but soon thereafter, it was back full force. I really hoped that when I woke up this morning it would be nothing more than a memory but unfortunately, it’s still there. Both my mother and father in law have been suffering from headaches today too - weird. I think I just need a pick me up via Tim Horton’s. Ha,ha.

Anywho, this explains why I haven’t been around very much these last couple of days. I doubt I’ll be around much this evening either, American Idol comes on tonight - it’s elimination night and I really hope that Kristy Lee Cook will be the one to say bye-bye tonight. No offense to the girl, she sings better than I ever could but she’s by far the worst of the final 10 (IMO). Of course as long as they keep Michael Johns and David Cook, I’m A-OK with it. These two guys rock.

I think I’ll go medicate this headache now. By the way, just a reminder; don’t forget about the handbag contest I’m running.

Win a handbag

EDIT; Minor adjustment. The contest is for the pink floral half moon bag, but since a few people have contacted me about the black and white one, I went ahead and bought it too. The winner will have the option for the pink bag or the black and white one. I’ll keep the other for myself!

When I first stumbled onto Patti’s etsy shop, I just knew I had to buy one of her half moon handbags for my new contest. I absolutely love their unique style and the patterns she chose for them. The bag I selected speaks “Spring and Summer” to me and I wanted to make sure that whatever bag I picked out would be perfect for Spring and Summer. Below you will see a couple of examples of the handbags for sale in her shop, and get an idea of what you have to look forward to in this contest!

As for the contest, here are the requirements:

a) IF you have a blog, create a blog entry which will include the paragraph below and have all links in place as they are in the paragraph.
a.1) leave a comment on this entry and include a link to your blog entry.

b) IF you aren’t a blogger, you may participate by commenting on this entry and letting me know how you learned about the contest.

The paragraph you will need to include in your blog entry is as follows:

Teresa is holding a new contest over at her personal blog. Those entering have a chance at winning a lovely and uniquely designed half moon handbag by Patti. Teresa is also willing to ship the prize anywhere, so no matter where you live you can participate.

So, are you wondering what you have a chance at winning? I thought so!

This contest will run from today, March 22nd until Sunday, March 30th with a deadline time of 11:59PM EST (comments will be turned off at this time). I will announce the winner on March 31st.

Good luck everyone!

Handbags?

Did someone say handbags? Yep, me.

Stay tuned for the details about my new contest. I’m hoping to announce it before the weekend. In case the title of this entry doesn’t give it away, the prize will be an adorable handbag.

Speaking of handbags; I’m thinking about going through my own collection and getting rid of a few. I’m not sure if I’ll put them on ebay or if I’ll just give them away (the receiver will pay shipping, which should be cheap). The only bag I’m not getting rid of when I do this is the Wizard of Oz bag my mom gave me for Christmas. I love it to bits and because of my love for it, I haven’t even used the dang thing yet.

That being said, it’s almost time for Survivor. I think I remember seeing something about it being aired today instead of tomorrow. Is that right?
