Win a handbag

EDIT; Minor adjustment. The contest is for the pink floral half moon bag, but since a few people have contacted me about the black and white one, I went ahead and bought it too. The winner will have the option for the pink bag or the black and white one. I’ll keep the other for myself!

When I first stumbled onto Patti’s etsy shop, I just knew I had to buy one of her half moon handbags for my new contest. I absolutely love their unique style and the patterns she chose for them. The bag I selected speaks “Spring and Summer” to me and I wanted to make sure that whatever bag I picked out would be perfect for Spring and Summer. Below you will see a couple of examples of the handbags for sale in her shop, and get an idea of what you have to look forward to in this contest!

As for the contest, here are the requirements:

a) IF you have a blog, create a blog entry which will include the paragraph below and have all links in place as they are in the paragraph.
a.1) leave a comment on this entry and include a link to your blog entry.

b) IF you aren’t a blogger, you may participate by commenting on this entry and letting me know how you learned about the contest.

The paragraph you will need to include in your blog entry is as follows:

Teresa is holding a new contest over at her personal blog. Those entering have a chance at winning a lovely and uniquely designed half moon handbag by Patti. Teresa is also willing to ship the prize anywhere, so no matter where you live you can participate.

So, are you wondering what you have a chance at winning? I thought so!

This contest will run from today, March 22nd until Sunday, March 30th with a deadline time of 11:59PM EST (comments will be turned off at this time). I will announce the winner on March 31st.

Good luck everyone!

Handbags?

Did someone say handbags? Yep, me.

Stay tuned for the details about my new contest. I’m hoping to announce it before the weekend. In case the title of this entry doesn’t give it away, the prize will be an adorable handbag.

Speaking of handbags; I’m thinking about going through my own collection and getting rid of a few. I’m not sure if I’ll put them on ebay or if I’ll just give them away (the receiver will pay shipping, which should be cheap). The only bag I’m not getting rid of when I do this is the Wizard of Oz bag my mom gave me for Christmas. I love it to bits and because of my love for it, I haven’t even used the dang thing yet.

That being said, it’s almost time for Survivor. I think I remember seeing something about it being aired today instead of tomorrow. Is that right?

The winner is

Sorry about the delay in posting the winner. I’ve been in and out all day with very little time to sit down and do anything involving the internet. I’ve also been waiting on my camera battery to charge, which it’s still doing at this moment. I am, however, going to announce the winner of my contest anyway.. before I head off to bed.

Congratulations to Krissi from krississippi.com. I will be contacting you via email tomorrow, regarding shipment of your prize.

Thank you to everyone who participated. To those who didn’t win, no worries. I’ll be holding a new contest shortly!

Can I get an “awww”

I thought it was awesome seeing whales in the harbour…

This is what was in the harbour this morning (taken by my father in law)…

ps; will announce the contest winner tomorrow!

Contest - diva necklace

As I mentioned yesterday; I’ve decided to run another contest featuring Lori’s jewelry. Last month the featured prize was a turquoise bracelet. This time around, the prize featured is a gorgeous necklace complete with sterling silver links, silver plated floral pendant with both jade and vintage silver beads. The necklace is 30 cms in length (I know some would ask).

I’m willing to ship anywhere, so if you’re interested in participating - please do so.

The only requirements are;

a) IF you have a blog, create a blog entry which will include the paragraph below and have all links in place as they are in the paragraph.

b) leave a comment on this entry and include a link to your blog entry.

c) IF you aren’t a blogger, you may participate by commenting on this entry and letting me know how you learned about the contest.

The paragraph you will need to include in your blog entry is as follows;

Teresa is holding a new contest over at her personal blog. Those entering have a chance at winning a beautiful floral necklace created by Lori Jaclyn. She’s willing to ship the prize anywhere, so anyone is eligible to participate!

This is what you have a chance at winning;

No entries will be accepted after 11:59 EST on February 17th. Once the deadline is met, I will close the comments. I will announce the winner sometime on Monday, February 18th.

A few things

First off; several have asked for a 3 column Wordpress theme. Your wish is my command, but it’s going to be a few days before I release it. I’m also going to work on making the themes widget-friendly, which will take a little time.

Secondly; I’ll be announcing a new contest sometime tomorrow. I figured since the most recent contest went so well, featuring Lori’s jewelry, I’d do a second contest featuring another piece. She had originally planned on letting me select a piece for myself and as much as I love her jewelry and would love a piece, I love you guys too. I rarely wear jewelry enough to buy it on a regular basis and I figured someone else would get better use out of it! I am having Lori create a customized piece for my mother for mother’s day though and I can’t wait to see it!

Thirdly; It is snowing so hard out right now, that it looks more like rain than snow. I had gotten so excited earlier this week, to see the snow we had from a couple of weeks back finally start to melt. I really should have known better than to think that would last very long. This is what it looks like out of the dinning room window.

Fourthly; I stayed up late last night so that I could watch the Calgary Flames (my favorite sports/hockey team in the whole wide world.. lol). We are only able to watch hockey on Saturday’s because of the programming here, which stinks - I miss watching nearly every game like we were able to do in Calgary. I was sad to see my team lose but I guess you win some, you lose some right?

Fifthly; Are you ready for some football? Who’s watching the Super Bowl tonight? This is actually the first year, in 6 years, that Jo’s been “off” and able to see it. He’s pretty excited about it. We’re having a small Super Bowl party, or I should say they are. Football isn’t my thing, I only watch it for the commercials (haha). To those who will watch it: Who are you rootin’ for? Jo’s hoping the Patriots will win and close out with a perfect season. I couldn’t care less about who wins to be honest. There’s only one football team that I can actually tolerate watching and that’s the Georgia Southern Eagles which is a college team (Go big blue).

And the winner is..

It’s that time again - the time where I post the winner of my contest. I would first like to thank everyone that entered. That was awesome to see so many people participate.

A reminder of what was up for grabs;

Now, can I get a drum roll please………..

(more…)

Quick reminder

If you’re interested in participating in my most recent contest, you need to do so before 11:59PM EST tomorrow (err, it’s after midnight.. today), January 30th.

Reminder of what’s up for grabs;

I’ll be closing comments at midnight and will announce the winner on January 31st. I’m happy to see so many participants. I do need to make a note though, there were several who commented that did not have a blog. The contest had already been posted, along with the rules and I’m going to stick to them to be fair to all of the participants that do have a blog and did as the requirements asked (posting the entry). If it’s any consolation, my next contest will kick off on February 1st (hopefully) and you can participate with or without a blog. Hope there are no hard feelings.

Contest reminder

Just a simple reminder about the contest that I’m running, which will end in about a week. If you like jewelry, especially turquoise, you’ll love what’s up for grabs.

To learn more about the contest or to enter yourself, you can visit the entry by click the image above or by clicking here. The rules/requirements are easy. And hey, even if you don’t win, you may still be interested in other pieces created by Lori!

New contest

I’ve decided to run a contest from now until the end of January.

Many of you have read entries about my friend Lori’s jewelry on display over at Lori Jaclyn Jewels. Lori does beautiful work and has a wonderful way of incorporated the right colors with the right materials. Her creations are stunning and I have personally purchased two sets of earrings from her in the past, so I know you’ll love her work.

Contest Requirements;

Step One>>
Simply create an entry about the contest using the following paragraph and leaving the links in tact:

Teresa is running her first contest of the year over at her personal blog. You have a chance to win a beautiful turquoise bracelet created by Lori Jaclyn. She’s willing to ship anywhere and that means anyone is eligible to participate and win.

It measures 8 inches in length!

Step Two>>
Leave a comment here, with a link back to your entry.

It’s as simple as that.

The deadline to enter is Wednesday, January 30th. This would make a great Valentine’s Day gift for a “significant other”, mother, sister or just a good friend. The winner will be announced on January 31st.

When you’ve entered, be sure you go back and check out the gorgeous jewelry Lori has listed at her Etsy.com store - Lori Jaclyn Jewels.
