In need of a break

Jo and I have been talking about “vacation time” a lot lately. We are both looking forward to a long break. We normally go to the beach for vacation and will likely find ourselves there again this year, however, I think it would be a nice change to say somewhere like a Vermont bed and breakfast. A friend of ours has been considering school in the area. Once she gets settled in (if she chooses the Vermont school over her other choices), maybe we can get away for a weekend and visit! I actually have another friend that lives in Montpelier. Sadly we ended up losing touch over the years and I have no idea how to get in touch with her. If we find ourselves there for a getaway, I hope that by then, we would be back in touch! I would love to play catch up with Kristi!

Rentals.com

I know a few people, including a couple of relatives, that own homes and condos along the coast of Georgia and South Carolina. They only use these homes once or twice a year for their own vacation with their families, however, they use them as vacation rentals the rest of the time to pay for the property and make a nice profit! Sometimes they struggle with filling vacancies because most of them rely on word of mouth for their business. If they really wanted to increase their business though, they should be listing their rentals on Rentals.com! This is actually a great resource for both property owners and those seeking rentals! Property owners can listed their properties detailing the property, adding photos and price! Those seeking rentals will then be able to search for properties in the areas they wish to vacation or live by price, state/city and type - apartments, condos, houses and vacation rentals, to name a few!

Jo and I were actually planning to move to Savannah, Georgia last year. When we made the decision to start looking into it, we did many of our apartment and rental home searches through Rentals.com! Searching is easy and the site is very user friendly, which I love! One of the things I really love about Rentals.com; not only can I do basic searches, I can also narrow my search down by amenities, community, length of lease, and as a non-smoker I can even narrow it down by smoking policy! This definitely helps narrow the playing field down and anyone that’s gone apartment or even house hunting will understand just how hard it can actually be, to find that perfect place!

If you’re a property owner needing vacancies filled or you’re someone who’s seeking a rental, head on over to Rentals.com!

LA2DAY - online magazine

My husband and I kid around a lot, about visiting L.A! We’re actually both serious about it and I have a few friends living in the area, who I’d love to visit! Other than the usual type of things (Hollywood Walk of Fame, for instance), I wouldn’t have a clue about the many other things L.A has to offer! What would we do? Where would we go? Where would be the best places to go when Dining in LA?

LA2DAY.com is an online magazine that provides an insider view of L.A’s current and top events and is your official guidebook to unexpected L.A! You can search their database for reviews and reports on L.A restaurants, get address details or give your own rating or comment about a restaurant! Searching is easy and the articles are so thorough, they even provide details about what they had to eat! It’s always a great idea to read reviews like this prior to heading out! At least you’ll have a good idea about what you should expect!

This is going to be mighty handy when my husband and I actually put an L.A trip together!

Prague

As a child, thanks to fairy tales, I wondered what it’d be like to live in a castle. I guess as young girls, most of us have fantasies about things like that. You know, finding your prince charming and living happily ever after in a beautiful castle! Well, I know that’ll never actually happen but that doesn’t mean I can’t visit and tour castles, right? If I ever make it to Prague, I’ll do just that! Could you imagine the beautiful pictures that will be captured? Another great place to visit would be the Old Town Square, which is filled with crafts, cute little cafes and live entertainment!

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, you can find Cheap Hotels in Prague over at Cheaperthanhotels.co.uk! Prague is a beautiful city and would make for a really nice getaway!

Bangkok

A few years back, my cousin Angie went on a missionary trip to little town in Thailand! While she was there, she and a few friends decided to visit Bangkok! Of course she took tons of pictures, which she shared with us when she returned and ever since seeing those pictures and hearing stories of her trip, I have been wanting to visit Bangkok myself! As a photographer, there are many different places that I would enjoy visiting, and of course capturing! I would love to visit the Grand Palace! It would also be nice to visit the riverside at night, the night shots, along the river that Angie took were breathtaking and it looks like a lot of fun! I would love to take a tour of Bangkok by boat, day or night or both! I will have to start researching Bangkok Hotels, so that once I get over this fear of flying, I will be on my way!!

Sidestep.com makes searching for a hotel, easy! Just select your destination, dates you will be staying from and to, who will be there (how many adults and / or children) and how many rooms you will need! Click “Search for hotels” and voila, you have a list of accommodations! Sidestep.com searches over 200 travel websites, to find the best values for you on the web!

Vacation in France

If I could ever conquer my awful fear of flying, there are many places I would love to visit. One place in particular would be France, specifically Paris! Is there really anyone who wouldn’t want to visit France though? It would definitely make for a wonderfully romantic getaway!

When you get ready to start planning your own vacation and you start searching for Cheap Hotels in France, be sure to remember Cheaperthanhotels.co.uk! Summer’s approaching

Summer is fast approaching, which means it’s time to plan vacations! I am really looking forward to a nice vacation! Once we finish up some business back home, we’re looking to take a week long vacation on Georgia’s Coast. We’ll likely stay on Tybee Island, since that’s one of my favorite places to vacation (or just visit). Some place like this would be nice! Tybee is about 20 some odd miles east of Savannah, Georgia, which is a charming and beautiful historic southern city! There’s so much to do all over the city, you’re not just limited to one area! You could stroll along River Street, where you can browse through Art Galleries, watch ships going up and down the Savannah River, visit Savannah Sweets (Oh you simply must do this if you ever visit Savannah, it’s sure to satisfy your sweet tooth!) or shop in the cute boutiques! In the historic district you can enjoy things like walking through the different parks, take a horse and carriage ride or even tour Saint John The Baptist Church! There’s so many places to dine and there’s such a wide variety to choose from, I sure hope you’re able to make up your mind! If you go about 10 (give or take) miles to the east, traveling towards Tybee, you can stop in at Fort Pulaski. I love history, so Fort Pulaski is always a treat for me! Then there’s Tybee! Enjoy a walk on the beach or just tan, fish off of the pavilion / pier, where you can enjoy great music (sometimes live) or stop in at one of the many bar and grills along the main stretch! Be sure to stop by the lighthouse on Tybee too! They offer a great tour of the grounds, not only just the lighthouse but the keeper’s house as well! I can’t wait for my vacation!

Vacation in Utah

There are many reasons you would and should take a Utah vacation. Some of the most obvious reasons would be to get a breath of fresh air, while also enjoying all the stunning, natural beauty and scenery around you while there! You’d be surrounded by things like the beautiful Wasatch Mountains, from the privacy of your Deer Valley or Park City, Utah condo! Maybe you’re taking a romantic getaway with your significant other at an amazing and fun ski resort or maybe you just want to load up the family for a fun and exciting family getaway!

If you’re looking to take a great vacation in Utah, you can find Deer Valley lodging at Resort Property Management and to do just that!

Fessing up

Jenn has started a new Friday “meme”! It’s called Friday Fess Ups! I think I’m going to start participating!!

My Friday Fess ups:

1. I’ve been looking at real estate in Newfoundland. Jo’s family is there and I guess I’m sort of hoping that one day we’ll wind up there ourselves.

2. Sometimes I “hide” when I’m online. By this I mean I either won’t get on my messengers or I set them to show I’m not online. Kind of silly I suppose, I mean if I really didn’t want to talk to anyone, I wouldn’t even log on, right? I usually do this when I’m having a bad day. Eh.

3. Sometimes I get tired of being the “nice” guy.

There you have it. Nothing top secret. I’m not even sure you’d call these big confessions but they’re all I could really think of and the only things that fit me right now. Ha!

In other news, I’m almost at $1,100 with PPP! It’ll be nice to get my hands on that Nikon!

Vacation time

It is that time of year again! That’s right, summer is just around the corner which means vacation is just around the corner too! It’s time to start planning! We’re planning ours already and we won’t be going on our “vacation” until late August! At Vlbo.com, you can pick your get away! For instance if you are planning a trip to South Carolina, you could pick that state and browse the rentals for the area of South Carolina that you’re wanting to possibly go to! If you really wanted to narrow it down to a beautiful, fun place! Check out the Myrtle Beach vacation rentals! The Myrtle Beach Resort looks really nice! Check out that pool area, how fun does that look?? If you’ve never been to Myrtle Beach, you are truly missing out on a great vacation! Our vacation there was one of the best we’ve ever had! You can even browse through the rentals for other places across the US, Canada, Mexico and even the Caribbean!!

If you are a property owner, you can even list your rentals for only $99 a year!

Who needs a vacation

With summer right around the summer, I’ve been thinking about a vacation a lot! Living a lot farther north than I’m used to, I’ve been thinking of vacations in warmer places! Vacation time always brings me back to my childhood, remembering all the fun times we had visiting places like Orlando, Florida! We had to have gone at least a dozen times! Every year we went to Florida, we went to Disney World and Sea World! I have always been the kind of person who enjoys theme parks and both of these parks were awesome! The first time we went to Disney World and took the fairy, I remember the people on board with us, at one point, were getting excited and loud! At first, I had no idea what was going on but soon, I realized the crowds were excited about Mickey Mouse skiing along side of us! I can recall almost every single detail about my visit! I really enjoyed the rides like “It’s a small world”, “Big Thunder Mountain Railroad”, and of course, my favorite “Alice in Wonderland” where you get to spin yourself in giant teacups!! Sea World was just as fun too! I loved watching the “Shamu” show, seeing all the different sea life!! My Florida vacations were the best vacations as a child and though I haven’t visited Florida in quite a few years, I know it’s a place I will visit again soon and enjoy just as much as I did back then!

Are you considering a Florida vacation? Maybe you’d like to check out Orlando Villas! You can search rental properties not only in the Orlando area but also in other areas of Florida like the Keys or Gulf Coast! If a Disney vacation sounds like a fun vacation for your family, why not check out the Disney News!

I am looking forward to my next Florida Vacation!

Good read; travel blog

As someone who’s as interested in traveling as I am, I am always in search of travel blogs! Today, I stumbled onto a Las Vegas vacation blog, which has really got me itching for a Las Vegas vacation! My husband’s good friend Brian and Brian’s girlfriend Jill have suggested that we all take a group vacation to Vegas in the near future! Jill has been to Vegas before and had a blast! My sister Connie has also been to Vegas and said it’s a place she hopes that me and Jo will visit someday! Ever since Brian and Jill suggested this trip, I’ve been surfing the web for sites about “Las Vegas” and things we can do while there! Of course I will want to try my luck in the casino’s but I’ll also be looking for shows to see, shopping, relaxing by the pool and most of all, sight seeing! As a visual person, it excites me when I think about seeing “The Strip” at night or even getting a chance to see the Las Vegas Valley!

At Vacation In Las Vegas NV, you can read reviews on hotels and resorts as well as restaurants and of course, the casinos!! You can check out available tickets to shows and concerts! Let’s not forget about the exciting Vegas weddings, you can browse a long list of Chapels and follow the links to their own websites!

If an extended vacation isn’t something for your busy schedule, maybe taking a day trip will fancy you! In this portion of Vacation In Las Vegas NV, you can read about activities such as exploring ghost towns, historical sights and even places like the town of Beatty (120 miles NW), which is best known as the “Gateway to Death Valley”.

As you can see, Vacation In Las Vegas NV is filled with many useful reviews an resources, like how you can get cheap airline tickets for your trip! As someone who is actually planning a trip to Vegas, I found this to be very useful and have bookmarked it for future follow-up reading when I start planning my visit!!

Still in Georgia

Well, we hit a little snag. We were all set to leave on Saturday, that was on Thursday! My, my how things can change! I sent off for my passport, which I won’t have before leaving. That’s perfectly ok because I’m going to be entering Canada in a private vehicle, so proof of citizenship to the US is all I’d need. Well, anyone who’s applied for a passport knows that when you apply for a passport, you have to submit your birth certificate. It didn’t dawn on me at the time of doing my passport application, that I’d be sending the only copy of my birth certificate that I have/had. Durhhhhhhhhhh, right?! So, I started to panic Thursday, realizing that I’d done this. I was born in a different county, near Atlanta, GA. It’s about 2 and a half hours from here. I had to get up early Friday morning and travel to the Health Department there and get a new copy because the passport process is delayed so much since January. Well, along with this, we didn’t realize how much we had to do concerning “exports” of items. I phoned the border patrol where we’d be crossing and they told me to go to their website, read the information under “exports”, fill out the form and submit all items by fax to them 72 hours prior to our “crossing”. Sounded easy enough at the time… hmmfff! Not at all!! Since our vehicle isn’t paid off in full yet, we have to obtain permission from the lien holder! So we’re now waiting on the “ok” from them to export my truck into Canada. We cannot leave before doing this, otherwise we’ll face a $500 penalty at the border. Yikes!!!

So, just wanted to give a quick update. They said it will likely be Monday before we get this “ok”, so hopefully by Tuesday or Wednesday we’ll finally be on our way!!

I need to get going now though, I have to head over to my aunts and help her move some things out to her shed! :]

And we’re back

Many, many thank yous to Nicole for hosting me! You are a gem and I cannot express my gratitude enough!!!

The run-down of the last couple of weeks; Not much has gone on, really. I’ve been sick, not only with headaches but in the last few days I’ve had symptoms of the flu. I’ve been running a fever since yesterday, aching all over and just have a huge lack in energy.

We went to my Aunt Janice’s house last Tuesday and had lunch with my Uncle Wayne and his wife Denise. When they arrived, Denise’s family (mother, brother and sister) were with them from Battlecreek Michigan! They’d all gone on a little vacation to Jekyll Island! I think this was the first time I’d met any of her relatives, at least that I can recall!

There’s still a lot we have to do before we leave for Calgary. We’d originally planned to leave this past weekend but my mother wanted to throw us a going away party this coming Friday, so we decided to stay one more week. I finally got to spend some time with my sister and the kids yesterday. We all had dinner at my mom’s house last night. I didn’t know they were all going to be there, so I hope they don’t get whatever this is that I have. Bleh.

Living in this house has drained me! There’s constant stress and my dad just has a way of saying or doing things to piss one off, especially me! Sometimes he doesn’t do it intentionally but others, I could swear he does! He’s even started doing little things to his girlfriend, Kim!!

My grandmother has been up and down and in and out of the hospital the last couple of weeks. They think she’s suffering from the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s disease. She’s very restless at night, suffers from a lot of memory loss and also has hallutionations. She tells us about a “baby” or “children” sleeping in the bed with her, that keeps her up all night. Mama and Tammy will check on her and she’ll just be roaming around the house talking crazy! Some of you have met her and you’ll recall, she’s never been one to swear but last night.. omg! She was so aggitated, we’d hear her say “Son of a b#$%@”! We stayed at my mom’s last night and though I don’t remember hearing her up and about, mama says she was!

Well, I’m going to finish up some stuff and go take a nap! I still have several things to tie up before we leave Saturday!

Check list;

1] New tires
2] Oil change
3] Brakes checked
4] Passport waiting
5] Check prices for flying the cats to Calgary
6] Cash all checks / get money together
7] Sort through belongings in garage
8] Wash / detail truck

I know there’s more but I’m too tired to remember. Pffth!!

Oh, I have a Virb.com account, if you want to add me! :]
