Backing up

How often do you do backups of your websites? Some say I do it too often, that it’s almost religiously. I guess it’s sort of become routine over the years because of all of the bad experiences I’ve had with web hosts getting hacked, CPUs crashing, an e-friend’s web host closing down without notice, and my own negligence during the first two things. I rarely ever did backups, in fact I think the first backup I ever did was after owning the website for over a year.

For me, I do backups on a daily basis. I have a plug-in installed that allows a daily backup to be created, then sent to my inbox. It’s the Wordpress backup database plug-in, which came in real handy a couple of days ago when I realized my Wordpress had been hacked. Before installing the plug-in, I did daily backups, manually through phpMyAdmin. If it weren’t for me blogging daily, I could probably get away with only doing it once a week. I think, even then, I’d still be too nervous about that though. Ha, ha.

I doubt this, my daily backing up routine, is one I’ll be breaking any time soon.

Wordpress theme - Autumn

Guess what? I have another Autumn Wordpress theme for you all! It is definitely on the girly side and a wee bit on the country side (you will see that in the border). I happen to love and enjoy it, I even plan to use it on one of my own blogs. I hope you all enjoy it too!

If you are interested in downloading it, you can do so by clicking here or by visiting my themes page from the sidebar or here. Once again, if you notice any errors or bugs, do not hesitate in letting me know. The images in this theme were created by me, including the background which I created using Tartanmaker.com. Speaking of which, several people have asked about the tartan background images I have been using in free themes and even in my own. Just FYI, I will make a few of these available for download later on today and if you cannot wait, feel free to pay the site a visit and play around with generator yourself.

I would also like to note that I will be creating a theme demo page sometime today. That way you can test out my themes before downloading them.

Wordpress theme - October 2

I decided to work up another free, Pink for October theme for you guys. I hope you like it. It’s pretty simple, in white and pink with a tad of black. You can view it, along with my other themes on my themes page: WP Themes. If you just want to download it straight away, click here to download it from it’s temporary link (issues on the domain I upload these to). Screencap is below. I hope you enjoy it!

Wordpress theme - October

Pink for October was created for Breast Cancer awareness month - October. I really hope you enjoy it. It’s nothing too complex and is rather simple but that was the point when it was created. You can download it by clicking here or visiting my themes page here.

It’s colors are pink, black and white. Screencap below.

My blogs will be going pink for October, will yours?

Ick

I’m not feeling too well right now. In fact, I have been trying to work on some new Wordpress themes but unfortunately, I’ve had to put them on the back burner for the rest of the night. I’m hoping to release at least 3-4 new ones between tomorrow and the weekend.

I’m really hoping it isn’t some kind of bug.

In other news - regarding the move to Newfoundland - there’s one bad thing about it. We’re not going to be able to take our cats. I’m really sad about that. I refuse to take them anywhere that would potentially put them down, so I’m looking into no-kill shelters and fostering programs. I figured in a place as big as Calgary, surely there’s something for us (them).

Wordpress theme - Autumn

Alright folks, I’m finally done with one of the Autumn themes. Please let me know if you come across any errors or bugs, so that I may fix them. If you have any questions regarding the this theme or any other theme, just leave a comment here. I will do my best to answer them.

You can download it from the themes page, located here.

Wordpress theme - An Autumn Daze

I hope you enjoy it!

PS; I’ve added a blank header image for the sidebar, in case you’d like to add more to your side bar or reword the headers to suit you better. The font used in the headers = a yummy apology, which you can download here.
